Before you read further, we want all prospective employees to understand why this opportunity is so unique. There are a lot of people out there who absolutely dream of having a job working with wildlife. Reality often crushes dreams when most figure out that the majority of the jobs in the wildlife industry are government jobs, and government jobs will often have 500 plus applicants for the same position. Because these jobs are so few, and are so sought after, they usually require extensive education and offer very little pay. The government biologists that we work with are the best in their field. They describe their entry positions requiring at the minimum a master's degree, a starting salary of $18k to $20k, and the ability to stand out from hundreds of other applicants. That's not much of a reward for 6+ years of college education. And for those lucky enough to secure the job, often find it's not the hands on wildlife job they expected, being outdoors and on the front lines, but a job that involves preparing reports and studies on things they have no interest in...

As a Wildlife Solutions field technician, some of your responsibilities will include...
Customer Accounts - You will be scheduling visits, performing site inspections, offering service recommendations, making sales, maintaining and servicing client accounts, communicating daily with all clients, and following up on jobs through to completion.
Equipment - You will handle the upkeep and cleaning of the company vehicle, tools, equipment, uniforms, etc. Our trucks look sharp and our equipment is top notch, and we expect our professionalism and appearance to always be maintained. You are responsible for all inventory assigned to you.
Documentation - You will be responsible for taking proper and detailed notes on all accounts daily, as well as properly completing all forms associated with service. Regular payroll reports and job status reports are your responsibility to submit weekly.
Professionalism - You must be responsible for the way you present yourself. We maintain good appearance at all times. You must be neatly shaven with a clean hairstyle. You must wear proper uniform that is clean and not damaged. You must constantly groom your hands and body throughout the day to ensure a clean appearance to the next client. Your equipment, such as your truck, must also be neat, clean, and organized at all times. Your attitude and demeanor with customers and co-workers must always be kind and professional, and constant communication with clients, especially if you''re running late or there is a change in your day, is important.
Release of Animals - You are responsible to find a suitable release site for the animals you catch. It should be private land that you have authorization to release on, preferably bordering a wildlife management area or other large tract of suitable habitat. All captured animals should be taken to release areas the same day of capture.
Enjoying your job - We expect all of our staff to find satisfaction in their jobs and in the relationships you build with your clients and your co-workers. Take time in the midst of it all to appreciate the innocence of an infant raccoon, the excitement of an animal chase no matter the victor, or the rewarding appreciation and thanks you receive when your client and their family realize that they have peace of mind once again now that you have helped them. Have fun in your job, and take the time to enjoy life in the experiences your job provides.
Other - There are certainly other things that the job involves that you will be doing from day to day, but those details will be explained during training.
